Analytical Study of Criticism on Araaish e Mehfil
Abstract
Haider Bakhsh Haideri was the famous translator in the department of Hindustani language, Fort William College. He translated the tale of Hatim Tai's seven riddles with the title "Araaish e Mehfil". Haideri was very judicious and visionary person and he opted such simple style that laid the basis of Urdu prose. This tale encompasses the signs of Hindu-Muslim culture's moral values, thought and philosophy, individualism and universalism, religion and divinity, and logic and mythos. In this article, all aspects of the critique on "Araish e Mehfil" have been discussed and worth of this masterpiece of ancient folk literature has been analyzed.
