Iqbal, the most eminent poet of the 20th century seems
to be a naturalist in his earlier works especially the
first part of his Urdu collection "Bang e Dara".
However, his stay at Europe brings a big change in his
political and nationalistic thoughts. His concepts about
nature also tend to change. Nature is no more a
romantic phenomenon for him rather he draws broader
meanings of life from it. Conquering of nature now
becomes an essential part of his concepts of "Khudi"
and" Mard e Momin". He now believes in humanism
instead of naturalism. This article identifies changes in
the concept of nature found in Iqbal's poetry.
