Works of Rudyard Kipling and representation of Indian Culture & civilization Rudyard Kipling (1865-1936)is one of the most enthralling authors coming out of the colonial discourse simply because he was born in India and yet,he was a white man, a sahib.Much of Kipling,s writing both fiction and non fiction, focus on India.He lived in India and wrote during the late 19th and early 20th century at the height of the British Empire. His famous novel Kim proves certainly to be a prose Odyssey of Hindustan. This novel as well as his other short stories reflect a panoramic celebration of India having a fascinating array of native characters. This article traces the reflections of Indian social and cultural environment in the works of Kipling especially in Kim and other short stories
