In the education system of any country, child is the center of all activities. The prime responsibility of a District Officer (Education) is to facilitate all the .students in order to develop the personality of a child with the help of all the administrative and teaching staff. Considering political pressure as main hurdle, this study explores its impact on the performance of female District Officers (DOs) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa using quantitative survey type research. Unlike existing studies, thi.s work is based on whole population because of the demographic diversity among different districts and their respective problems. The analysis of this stud y shows that 96% DOs [aced pressure in teachers' osting/transfer, 100"Xa of DOs faced pressure in appointment of Class IV, 92°Xe ofDOs faced pressure in schools' site selection and 84% ofDOs faced pressure in taking disciplinary actions from the political figured. Due to these political interferences, 19°Xu of DOs left theadministrative post and join the teaching cadre. Furthermore, 19‘Xo of DOs lodged FIRs against political and infiuential figures. The research study will provide insight to policy makers about the existing situation of education at district level Furthermore, it will facilitate the decision makers to make policies pertaining to the factors affecting the erformance of policy implementers i.e. DOs. It will suggest strategies to improve the effectiveness of DOs to improve ducation. It will also provide a suitable guideline and bas'e for further research.
