تلخیص
This article proposes to reintroduce the Orientalists belonging to
Europe and America who chose the life and achievements of our
Holy prophet as a subject of their work and writings. Despite a
reflection of bias and spite of source of the orientalists in their
work against Islam and the prophet (peace be upon him) much
informative can be found in the reasonable stock created by them,
from historical point of view.
Approach of orientalists in different eras was divergent
resulting variety in knowledge, experience, reasoning pattern, and
religious beliefs, and accordingly standard of their work differs
from each other. Before orientalist movement also the west was
biased against Islam for about four hundred years after the
emergence of Islam.
In seventeenth century the orientalists started framework
their research work in the context of Arabic work on Islam. In
eighteenth century some of the orientalists tried to be just and fair
in dealing with the material of Islamic history and considered it
objectively and they gracefully admired that was admirable.
