This is a comparative study of two novels Tehrhee Lakeer and Akhtar U Nisa
Begum. I tried to explore differences and commonalities of women's status in
social context of colonial India. The study also deals with the position and role
of women through the Female characters of these above mentioned novels. My
research categorically deals with the issue of women empowerment in colonial
society through the lens of Nazar Sajjad Haider and Esmat Chughtai.
