Abstract
This study is examined the rice and cotton trade potential for Pakistan
for the period of 1984 to 2014 by using the gravity model and random
effect model. The objective of this study is to find the components that
affect the rice and cotton trade in Pakistan. The empirical results for
rice and cotton suggest that Pakistani exports are positively affected
through production, common boarder and GDP of partner countries.
The results show that the distance has negative impact on exports and
gross domestic product as well. The findings also suggest that higher
trade flows are attributed to the country that shares a common border
with Pakistan.
