mental retardation. Punjab Special Education Department notified
the creation of 270 posts of Senior Special Education Teachers

Centers selected through systematic random sampling technique.
Two self-developed questionnaires were used to elicit responses
from these teachers. The reliability of validated instrument

2(after notification) was .79 (Cronbach alpha). The major findings
exhibited moderate level of job satisfaction among teachers which
was extremely affected after the issuance of notification of up
gradation. Conclusions were drawn and recommendations were
made.
