Abstract
Presenting a survey of the parodies of Allama Iqbal’s poetry, Imran Zafar examines parody (tāḥrīf) tradition in Urdu verse and offers an analysis. His article discusses parodies of some of the famous poems of Iqbal such as Hamdardī, Parinde kī Faryād, Shakwah and Jawāb-e Shakwah, carried out by Akbar Ilāh Abādī, Shaukat Thānvī and Sayyid Zamīr Jafrī among others.
