Abstract
Asrār-i Khudī was published in times that were tumultuous across the entire world. The Islamic world was economically impoverished and politically dominated by the West. Iqbal wanted to see these conditions transformed and this became the inspiration to create this book. Its publication led to a reactionary debate in which important and well-known figures of that period were involved, including, Khawaja Hasan Nizami, Zauqi Shah, Akbar Allahabadi, Dr. Abdur Rahman Bijnauri and Mohammad Ali Johar. This article reviews briefly this debate about the theme and content of the book.
