Abstract
Objective: To find the outcome of acute kidney injury (AKI) among children at Nishtar Hospital, Multan Methodology: This descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted at the Department of Pediatric Medicine, Nishtar hospital, Multan, from October 2019 to March 2020. A total of 156 children, aged 1-12 years with AKI were enrolled. All were treated as per institutional protocol, and followed up for 14 days. Final outcome was noted in terms of complete recovery, partial recovery or death. Conclusion: This study has shown the 75% patients had complete recovery, 21.15% had partial recovery and deaths in 3.85% patients of acute kidney injury. (Rawal Med J 202;45:598- 601). Results: Overall, mean age was 5.13±2.61 years. Out of the 156 patients, 105 (67.30%) were male and 51 (32.69%) were females. Mean body weight was 13.35±6.78 kg. We have found that 117 (75%) children had completed recovery, 33 (21.15%) partial recovery and deaths were noted in six (3.85%).
