Abstract
The global wave of COVID-19-pandemic has adversely affected the
education sector. All educational institutions in Pakistan have been
closed and are moving towards online teaching. However, researchers
are not clear about the barriers and challenges that will be faced in
implementing online system? This study has examined barriers and
challenges faced in Online Education during COVID-19-Pandemic in
Pakistan. Using a cross sectional research design, data were collected
via online questionnaire from sample of 708 from the public sector
university of Pakistan. The data were analyzed through descriptive &
inferential statistics. Results revealed that students faced barriers and
challenges like problems with the technology, lack of the training, low
motivation, resources constraints and low computer literacy. Such
findings are in the concurrence with the previous literature. This study
strongly recommends that government should take proactive steps in
overcoming barrier and challenges as faced by students. Government
should give funds to the universities for updating their technologies
required for online education.
