Abstract
Energy sector is relatively more sensitive. Its effects almost instantaneously reach out to the
rest of the economy. High population growth coupled with rapid urbanization has put
tremendous pressures on demand management of this sector. The planning process and
appropriate pricing policies need to be based on more objective information, In this study,
energy demand projections for the residential sector in Pakistan have been made and the
extent of uncertainty of these projections have been assessed on the basis of a bootstrapped
probability distribution of the projected demand, Price and income elasticities of aggregate
energy demand and of its components have also been estimated,
