Abstract
The Qur’an is viewed to be the scriptural foundation of Islam and is believed to have been
revealed, without issue, to Muhammad (PBUH) by the angel Gabriel. It is a fountain of
knowledge and eloquence.
Abdul Malik bin Idrees Aljazairi (1004 AD) was born in Andalus. He was the minister of
Mansoor bin Abi Amir (1003 AD), the great emperor of Andulus in Ummaya`s Era. He was a
great poet and writer of his age in Arabic literature.
He was prisoned by the king Mansoor for his interruptions in government matters. Then he
wrote a long poem of 219 verses from his prison to the king for apology and mercy. The main
theme of his poem is advice to his children and apology to the king. He wrote the poem with
some metrical rhyme and rhythm as well as he strengthened his poetry with the citation of the
Holy Quran and Hadith.
In this paper I am intended to present the beauties of Citation in the prisons poetry of the
famous Undalucian poet Abdul Malik bin Idrees al Jzari. It is called Qabas, a flame of fire,
and borrowed to seek knowledge, in which speaker includes his words - poetry or prose was
- something from the Qur’an, or the modern, on the face of it does not have notice that from
the Qur’an or hadith.
