Abstract
Objective: To investigate the predictive effect of
self-concept and emotional intelligence of
transgenders and to explore their understanding
of the role of emotions in goal adjustment. Conclusion: Given ample opportunities and good
support system, transgenders can manage their
emotional Intelligence, self-concept and goaladjustment.
These findings can prove helpful for
future researchers to focus on several aspects of
self-concept and emotional intelligence in
transgenders for provision of psychological
services. (Rawal Med J 202;45:3-6).
Results: There was significant relationship
between self-concept, goal-disengagement and
goal-reengagement. Results of hierarchical
regression analyses indicated predictive effect of
self-concept on goal reengagement.
Methodology: The study sample comprised of
100 transgenders and was carried out at Fountain
House and Khawaja Sira Society, Lahore. The
correlational research design and purposive
sampling was applied through the following
