Abstract
An interview survey was conducted among 15 college graduates working as skilled contract employees under non-regular employment at four plants operated by major manufacturers in order to determine the
status of career change in an era wherein university placements exceed the number of university applicants. The results revealed that most participants graduated from non-selective colleges with
deviation scores ranging between 30 and 40, thereby decreasing their competitive edge in the job market when compared to high school graduates. Most of the participants held various positions in different
industries, and initially possessed low levels of job satisfaction; moreover, their change activities were inadequate.
