Seasonal changes in population structure of 53 species of Waterbirds from four localities along the Karachi Coast, Pakistan were
studied for a period of four years (1993-1996). The concept of Guild Structure was introduced for the first time to classify the bird
species. Six guilds were defined on the basis of food and feeding style etc. Food preferences of bird species were also studied.
Abundance of birds of different guilds was related to the availability of food.
