Progressive Writers Movement is an important chapter of urdu literature. The poets affiliated with this movement were much impressed by Marxist ideology and have depicted a social awareness in their poetry. These poets presented a concept of man which is free from the limititation of social classes. These poets urged on that dignity of man which is crushed by upper class.
