Abstract
Faiz Ahmad Faiz, a legendary poet was convicted under Rawalpindi conspiracy case in 1951. He remained in prison for four years. During his imprisonment, Faiz fed his loneliness with propinquity. He shared with his wife through his letters published as "Saleebain Meray Dareechay Mein". His letters comprise of myriad of varied discussions between the two. He expressed his loneliness as a bird confined to a corner of the garden, scorned by other birds for losing its fundamental ability to fly. This article is an effort on Faiz's letters which give a new impression of freshness because of his individualistic and internal rhythm, new metaphors, new ways and search for expression.
