Abstract
The fecal flora has a role in immunoregulation. Prebiotics are nondigestible sugars that can modulate the fecalflora by stimulating proliferation of selective beneficial bacteria. Fecal bacteria can also be regulated by administration of selected bacteria, called probiotics.
