Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the role of Facebook adoption on the academic capabilities of undergraduate university students. An online survey was conducted to collect the empirical data
of 470 undergraduate students from public and private sector universities in Pakistan. The study applied
structural equation modeling (SEM) to estimate the proposed conceptual model. The empirical results show
that the adoption of Facebook has significant and positive effects on undergraduate students. These findings
provide significant policy implications for higher education institutes.
