Abstract
Seyyed Afzaluddin Abu Ja'far Amir Maah (d. 772 Hijri) was a mystic
and Persian language writer of the subcontinent. His father was also a
great mystic of the time. Amir Maah gave allegiance to Seyyed Ala'd-udin Javari, and he was also direct caliph of Sheikh Shahabuddin
Suhrawardi. Among the books he has written only one which is mystical
"Al-Matlub Fee Ishq- El-Mahbub" is left. The text of this prose is mixed
with verses of Holy Quran, Hadiths of Holy Prophet (peace be upon
him), and poetry. This book consists of five chapters. The first one, in
expressing of Ishq (love), the chapter contains three different topics. The
Second chapter is about the Dar Bayan-E-Dil (statement of heart), which
consists of two dissimilar subjects. Third, in the Hijab hay-E-Dil (veil of
hearts), this chapter contains four topics. The fourth chapter is the Vosul
ellallah (nearness of Allah) which contains four subjects. The fifth
chapter is Fazl al-Wara, which is very short on this title and does not
have expansion. Five copies of the manuscript have been used in
correction of this Book. The information on the significance and the
introduction of heart is considerable.
