Urdu Poem in the age of reformation
Abstract
The obscurantism that was at length practised by the
predecessors of Hali as self-evident from their stylistic approach
was finally called off by the new emerging stylistic sense of the
modernists. Hali was the poetic aura of his times. He, along with
his contemporary poets: Azad, Shibli and Meerithi, kicked off
with a new undercurrent of meaning, usefulness and
reformation, as prior to him it was only envisaged but no
endeavour was don on. Hali's epoch was marked with
innovations in style of poem which proved beneficial. In a
nutshell, the researcher has focused on the style of Hali's epoch
with special reference to modern poem.
