Modern Urdu Poem( In the context of Post Modernism)
Abstract
Modernism began after the first world war among its basic topics
Suspision absurdity anxiety and dejection were included.
According to this thoery, words had specific meanings and they
were considered overshadowing the time and space. But in Post
Modemism, multimeaning replaces singlemeaning. In post
modernism, topics have not remained specific or limited.
Today's poet pens down whatever he feels in his surroundings.
In post modernism, locality is emphasized rather than
universality.Today's poet writes on hypocricy, deception and
fraud. He pens down the treatment that is meted out to women.
He dislikes materialism. He gives weightage to the dignity of
man in this world of greed and lust. He is in search of that man
who had lost himself in his search for material things.ln this
article, a research study of post modernism poetry has been
presented for the reader to ponder over this issue.
