Abstract
Science of Fiqh is representative of legal aspect of Islam. Its foundations were also laid in the time of Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) like other major Islamic Sciences. Muslim Scholarship did great effort to preserve, compile and transform the science of Fiqh since its beginning. Orientalists tried to show in their writings that Muslims had no legal system and literature regarding law and legal matters in their beginning period. While reality is that science of Fiqh was introduced by Holy Quran and Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and Prophet himself laid its foundations and developed it. Literature regarding law and legal affairs existed and compiled in the time period of Prophet and the later part of first Hijrah century. This article deals with the efforts of Muslim Scholars of second century in the field of Fiqh and elaborates their contribution to the compilation of this science.
