Quran Majeed, the miraculous and unquestionable book of Allah (SWT), carries entirely the wordings and their subsequent meaningsfrom Allah through revelation. It is impossible to encompass the true approach and depth of its content. The scholars of Mohammadancommunity,delved into this area of knowledge according to their expertise and inclination. Consequently, an astonishing and valuable account of Quranic sciences and disciplines came into existence. Men following Hadith amassed the Prophetic interpretations of Quran. Men of dissertations furthered the work of elucidation and explanation of the Quran through the sayings of the companions (RA) of the Prophet(PBUH) and their followers. Men of independent reasoning presented the solutions to the problems of life using the faculty of critical thinking. Linguists and etymologists highlighted the brilliance of the language and its usage in Quran. Men of prose bearing in mind the Quranic methodology of reasoning, refuted falsehood on intellectual grounds.Men of piety and purity, titled as Mystics, attempted to disclose the meaning of Quran as per their taste and experiences. The form of knowledge taken into account for describing Quran’s interpretation by mystics is called as mystical interpretation of Quran. Mystics is a peculiar genre in the realm of contemplating and pondering Quran in the Sub-continent, wherein they derive the hidden or spiritual meaning availing their mystical experiences, interpretations and standard procedures while keeping the apparent or literal meaning undisturbed.
