This paper is a pilot study embodied with an objective to primarily examine and scrutinize the general perception held by novice teachers regarding mentoring being received in practicum. Opinions held by pre-service teachers as regards their teaching abilities are primarily contended upon their mentor. Mentors assistance in teaching practice in B.Ed program is the cardinal uestion being posed objectively. To collect data, structured questionnaire was employed whose authenticity was subjected to descriptive statistics using quantitative analysis. The outcomes have been discussed and elucidated in the categories’ ofresponses with lesson prep aration, teaching experiences, mentor feedback and views regarding course scheme. Results as regards perceptions on mentoring received were acknowledged conducive. These involved adding them in identification of teaching material, lesson preparation on provision of teaching and teaching methodology. Findings in this research will provide you with an insight about the tangible benefits of mentoring system. It is duly recommended that strategies to ameliorate and strengthen the social relationship to mentorin g system in teacher education
