The Sentence of Disgrace towards Religious Sanctities: An Analytical Study of the Opinions of Jurists
Abstract
This study elaborates the opinions of the leading jurists of
prominent schools of thought in regard with the sentence of disgrace and
insult of any religious sanctities. The research brings to light various
definitions and explanations of religious sanctities. What is meant by
blasphemy and what actions exactly fall under the definition of blasphemy?
The study primarily focuses on the sanctities of Islam but also highlights the
sanctities of other religions as well. The real concept of respect and esteem
towards the religious sanctities has also been discussed in the said research.
The study highlights the opinions and viewpoints of the pioneers of the
prominent juristic schools of thought in terms of humiliation of religious
sanctities. The study analyses the estimation of various jurists about the
injunctions and possibilities of repentance of all those who are found guilty
of the said offense.
