Abstract
There is a difference among the terms of language such as: Sound, Grapheme, Script, Alphabet and Orthography; off course, these are interconnected with one another. So, the majority of students of language and common readers are confounded in this regard, and can’t differentiate. Hence, the term ‘Script’ is studied here to describe its domain. The ‘Script’ deals with the shape of letter, its different forms, direction and style of writing. The synonym of Script in Hindi is ‘lipi’ and in ArabicSindhi is ‘Rasmul Khat’, but its scope in English language is broad. Majority of writers use the word Script in the sense of Alphabet, but it should be noted that Alphabet means sequence of letters/ graphemes; however, the area of Script is interconnected with manner of letter written in combined or separated form and colloquial direction. Out of this spade work following seven points have been obtained: 1. For same language different script 2. According to same script the different structure of letters 3. In the same region for the same letter different phonetical sounds 4. In the same script for the same letters different style of writing 5. In the script either to write joint letters or to write them in separate form or use both of them simultaneously 6. In each script different forms of letters 7. According to calligraphy the arrangement of letters can be called as script.
