Abstract
The notion of non-violence in all religions is very effective to promote peace and protection amongst humanity. All religions condemn violence strongly and insist their followers to promote safety for all creatures of the world. It is vividly clear that the philosophy of non-violence exists, in all texts of the sacred books of different World religions. No religion in its holy books, does teach or promote violence, cruelty and tyranny whatsoever. But on the other hand, it is also a fact that some religious groups 1 have been associated with violence in some of the crucial cases, not of history only, but also of the present age. There is a need to study the religious teachings of major world religions, regarding non-violence and negating terror in the name of religion. The following research focuses the Holy Bible (OT & NT both) to investigate, whether the religious teachings, in reality, de-emphasize violence and extremism, with their impact on human behavior.
