Abstract
Dua or supplication is an essence and spirit of worship. Therefor the status
of dua in Islam is great and its position is sublime. Many texts in the Holy
Quran and Hadith of the Holy Prophet SAAW indicate its significance,
need, reward and importance. Allah Almighty always ordered and asked
Muslims for supplication and consider them arrogance who are leaving
dua. The Prophet Muhammad SAAW encouraged Muslims to ask for
supplication and taught them beautiful duas particularly in special
occasions. For this purpose many books have been composed to urge the
Muslims for this special worship and dua. This article presents a summary
and brief introduction of some important books on prophetic supplications
and prayers
