Abstract
Literary theory has emerged as a prominent topic in Urdu literature since last
two decades. Among the Urdu critics of post modernism in new era, Dr. Nasir
Abbas Nayyar is a prominent name. He is known as the pioneer of post colonial
studies in Urdu literature. He has successfully applied various aspects of literary
theory on different Urdu literary texts in order to establish the new meanings of
old texts. This article aims at interpreting Dr. Nasir's critical writings in the
context of contemporary criticism.
