Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi as quatrain writer
Abstract
The Quatrain style of poetry is transferred from Persian
to Urdu.It is a difficult verse style in poetry.Ghalib has
even faced difficulties while following this complicated
verse style.The history of quatrain poetry emerged from
Dabistan-e-Dakkan,which become a regular verse in
Urdu poetry later on.Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi is
considered one of those eminent poets who attempted
writing poetry along with prose.He has excelled in fiction
and column writings in prose.He is famous for writing
conplets in poetry. Ahmad Nadeem qasmi has even
attempted writing quatrain style of poetry.Though we do
not find written record of his quatrain poetry,we may still
find the examples of quatrain poetry in the collection of
his poetry,"RIM JHIM".The present essay focusses on
the importance of quatrain style of his poetry.
